$0.00     CME
Location: Sagamore 5
Description:
CME NUMBER: IN22133
Lecture is part of the Mental Health Symposium. Misuse of alcohol has been a maladaptive coping skill since likely the first fermented brew was developed. While data collection has been impacted, it does appear that the COVID pandemic has only worsened the rates of addiction to alcohol and other substances. This presentation will review evidenced based screening protocols for alcohol use disorder, decision tools for determining appropriate levels of care, and options for medication management.

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
• Review burden of alcohol use disorder and options for screening
• Explore outpatient and inpatient detox protocols and how to determine what is the appropriate level of care
• Identify medications used for assisting with maintenance of sobriety
